The Maharishi-owned Ezemvelo Nature Reserve in Gauteng is home to over 4 000 free-roaming animals and 268 bird species. The reserve is a protected sphere of abundant biodiversity, deep silence and peace, nestled within the South African bush.
Students will be housed at the off-the-grid campus where they will learn the principles of the Green Economy through personal, financial and environmental education combined with experiential learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Maharishi Green Industries Academy offers two nationally recognised CATHSSETA qualifications in Nature Conservation, and is working to develop further qualifications.
The National Certificates offered are:
- NQF2 – Nature Conservation Resource Guardianship (Ezemvelo), ID 59389 – accreditation by CATHSSETA (Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport SETA)
- NQF 4 – Nature Conservation Resource Guardianship Terrestrial (Ezemvelo), ID 63109 – accreditation by CATHSSETA
- FGASA related exams for the guiding components
- Specified entry exams required to join organisations such as SANParks
