August 2022 marks a significant milestone for the Maharishi Institute!

The fourth floor of the institution was turned into a ‘world-class convention centre’ for the launch of the MII Innovation Pod sponsored by Accenture. It was an incredible event as over 50 guests gathered to witness the launch of this incredible home to innovation, sponsored by Accenture.

A number of guests attended the event, including Maharishi Institute CEO Dr Taddy Blecher and his team, the Principal of Maharishi High School, Accenture’s Zandile Njamela (Head of Enterprise Development), Khethiwe Nkuna (Head of Black Economic Empowerment), and Radha Kasan (Head of the Accenture Liquid Studio), as well as Small Micro Enterprise Companies with Accenture alumni.10 of our very own Maharishi NCV (National Certificate Vocational in IT) students joined too.

In her opening speech, Zandi shared Accenture’s intentions and motivation for partnering with MII and becoming a donor. Following Dr. Taddy Blecher’s introduction to the Maharishi Institute, Darren Landsberg shared his MII Student success story. A very enlightening presentation was given by Khethiwe Nkuna about how Accenture opens Africa’s abundance to everyone. In addition to connecting the Innovation Pod with Accenture’s Exposure to Technology, Radha Kasan explained what innovation is.

An official ribbon cutting opening the Innovation centre, and the unveiling of the wall plaque commemorating the occasion, marked the opening of the Innovation Pod by Dr Blecher and Zandi Njamela. The Accenture Liquid Studio Team showcased the innovation pod to all guests.

The Pod will provide all MII students with an opportunity to learn about innovation in general, and technological innovation specifically. It will provide students in the soon to be launched ABSA HCI Academy (Human Computer Interface), which will introduce students to virtual reality, augmented reality, and the ‘Metaverse’. Also, we hope that students of Maharishi Invincibility School, from an early age in Grade 8 can learn about the massive potential of these technologies, and in particular, students in Grade 10 who study the MII National Certificate Vocational – IT stream can understand where technology is heading.

Maharishi Invincibility Instititute is grateful for the continued support received from Accenture.
