Global Business Services is based around one of South Africa’s fastest growing industries – the fast-growing field of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), where businesses from small startups to large companies outsource processes and services to companies in South Africa. The Global Business Services Academy offers a series of comprehensive national SETA certifications recognised by industry, which in turn opens up dozens of career opportunities across telecommunications, finance, IT and sales.


The Maharishi BPO Academy offers national SETA certificates in Contact Centre Management.

The programme offers theory which is combined with practical work experience inside Invincible Outsourcing on campus in Johannesburg within BPO operations. A variety of electives are available. 

The programme is currently offered as an Academy subject to sponsorship availability.

The Qualifications offered are:

  1. NQF 3 – National Certificate: Contact Centre and Business Process Outsourcing Support ID 93997 LP 80566 (credits 124) – accreditation by Service Seta
  2. NQF 4 – Further Education and Training Certificate: Contact Centre Operations  ID93996 LP 71489 (credits 134) – accreditation by Service Seta
  3. NQF 5 – General Management, ID 59201 (162 credits) – accreditation by Services Seta

In addition students in the Academy have the opportunity to enroll for specialist compliance examinations, like the FAIS (Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act) RE exam (Regulatory Exam) which dramatically increases salary ranges after employment. 

Students in the Global Business Services Academy have the opportunity to enrol in additional courses through other Professional Academies, such as the MII Digital Academy and MII Insurance Academy.

These numbers are projected to double over the next five years.

Global Business Services offer a vast range of career opportunities in the handling of basic to complex transactions within many specific industries, e.g. Telecommunications, Finance, ICT, Insurance and more.
