Richard Peycke (above right)

BA (Hons) Psychology (Unisa), PhD (Honoris Causa).

Co-Founder and Chairperson of Maharishi Institute. 

  • Richard Peycke started his career in the IT industry, first as a systems analyst and later as the IT manager of one of SA's largest construction groups.
  • He studied part time through the University of SA, to get a BA honours degree with an honours in psychology and a major in economics.
  • He was a co-founder of the Community and Individual Development Association in 1979. His job was to coordinate self development and empowerment projects around South Africa.
  • His area of interest is the development of education systems that unfold full human potential, particularly exploring the development of the full brain through the development of consciousness. He has been a pioneer of the system of Consciousness-Based Education in South Africa, both at the individual and national level, and his educational activities have won local and international acclaim.

John de Jager (above left)

We will always remember and honour one of our founding members, the late John de Jager, who lived his life in service to South Africa's youth and gave every breath of his life to ensure equal access to education for all.
