Pre-University

The Pre-University level Foundation Phase offers access to the development of 25 Skills which are run as a series of 1-month short-courses. The Foundation Phase does not offer an academic-qualification. It provides access to university-level degrees accepted by our academic partners. It also offers skills development through our academic partners such as Microsoft, Thinking Skills, CIDALearning, and other learning partners for specific short-courses.

These 25-skills courses have several purposes, which include bridging and remediation: students study English and mathematics every day as well as have intensive introduction to computer skills. Our 10-years of experience in this field has shown matriculants with Grade 12 from the South African education system are not sufficiently prepared to cope with university-level studies. This allows students who have not done sufficiently well at high school to bridge into university-level education.

There are 3 sub-phases in the Foundation Program, across which the 25-skills courses are offered:
Core phase
Accelerate phase*
Foundation Phase 2

* Students who pass maths and English at Level 4 during the Core phase are exempt from the Accelerate phase which offers even more intensive mathematics and English classes.
